After lunch in the Amsterdam sun UvA Institute for Advanced Study, our 40 amazing participants brainstormed projects to work on. We're excited about what lies ahead!

Day 2 complete! Detlef van Vuuren & Irene Monasterolo gave fantastic keynotes on mitigation modelling and climate stress tests, followed by a panel discussion w Anne Kervers, @ErnstKuiper, E. van der Linden, & E. Fantozzi. Slides will be shared soon :) We're excited for tomorrow!

Day 3 complete! We heard from Kornelia Dimitrova about exciting collaborations between climate scientists & designers, from Planet: Critical about the role of independent journalism, and from complex systems guru Marten Scheffer about tipping out of trouble. Now dinner Cafe de Ceuvel!

Day 4 complete! Oscar Berglund provided great reflections on activism, @MartheWens invigorated us with her deeply inspiring journey from scientist to activist, & Aarti Gupta clearly laid out the huge governance challenges of solar geoengineering. Tomorrow project talks!

Should you use Likert or VAS for EMA research? In a new paper led by jonas haslbeck (jmbh.bsky.social) & Alberto Jover (last author Anne Roefs), we assigned n~160 in a 2 week study to either 📏1-7 Likert or 🎚️1-100 Visual Analogue Scale and compared results using Bayesian multilevel models.
