Amazing achievement from the Gemini team! Getting to IMO gold with a general text interface and set of approaches was a pipe dream nine months ago, back when the model was ~35% on AIME. Very cool to see the model's capability accelerate.

I think we are <12 months away from an AI model making novel math discoveries for simple unproven conjectures and <24 months away from "rudimentary" self-improvement of LLMs (perhaps saturating after 2-3 iterations of self-improvement) The future is thrilling

Few people are aware of how good Gemini Deep Think is. It's at the point where "Should I ask an expert to chew on this or Deep Think?" is often answered with Deep Think. GPT-5 Pro is more "intellectual yet idiot" while Deep Think has better taste. I've been repeating this a
