On this day in 1922 Carrie Morrison became the first woman admitted as an English solicitor. I am proud to be part of this mosaic. I am proud to have been one of the solicitors who followed her. Coincidentally 18 Dec 2021 was also my last day in the offices where I qualified!

The last time we all met together... This Taskforce was brought together to address lack of socio-economic diversity at the top in UK Financial and Professional Services. Just two of the key outputs: Progress Together and the 'Breaking the Class Barrier Recommendations Report'.

On a personal level, this Taskforce has had a big impact on my career, prompting me to leave the security of employment to try to bring about change in the City - using Andy Haldane's words - "in a compassionate and collegiate" way through Joanna Hughes Solicitor Apprenticeships.
