We made a thing about the frustration of rail travel…especially heading from London to the North Bravo to the brilliant Vicky Farncombe the brains (and train wrangler) behind this, and ace editor Clare Fordham who kept us on track (ehem) Listen on BBC Sounds & BBC Radio 4 from 4pm

Terrific to see English Teacher taking home the Mercury Prize - repping Leeds and bigging up the amazing venues like @Nath_Brudenelland & Hyde Park Book Club in this awsome city. G’wan gang!

If that IS it for Josh Warrington - what a career that guy’s had. Unbelievable servant to the sport and incredible ambassador to the city of Leeds and Leeds United. MOT Josh lad.

In for the mighty Gordon Smart on BBC Radio 5 Live - had the absolute pleasure of meeting the legend Mike Batt. Lots of wonderful stories including him and Paul MCartney annoying Stevie Wonder and getting pulled over by the police whilst driving his Rolls-Royce dressed a Womble…obvs.

Brilliant interview with Mike Batt on BBC Radio 5 Live by BBC Johnny I'Anson sitting in for Gordon Smart. Talking about just some of the many incredible stories in Mike’s autobiography out tomorrow bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0….

A UWE Bristol researcher has successfully grown the world’s first ruby in situ, in a platinum ring. Sofie Boons joined Johnathan I'Anson on BBC Radio 5 Live to explain how her work can transform the jewellery industry (scroll to 1'23"03): bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…

It’s a thing of beauty! Fascinating book and so lovely to have you on BBC Radio 5 Live!

Radio stuff tomorrow with the terrific Rachel Burden - see you then!

Salford gleaming this morning - thanks to Rachel Burden and the gang for a splendid morning on BBC Radio 5 Live. Rick Edwards back with you tomoz!
