Every decade or so I need a new wallet. Something slim and durable. Have used a slimmy for last 20 years and wanted to try something new. Unfortunately, the Ridge isn’t great. Even worse - they lie about letting you return the wallet!

I love how the Edinburgh council is scratching its head on just how exactly we’re going to afford a modest wage increase for garbage men when we don’t have a tourist tax.

Any time I mention a tourist tax some weird army of hoteliers appears to argue that we will “drive tourists away” while forgetting that almost every tourist destination city in Europe has one. Also, overflowing dumpsters is going to drive tourists away a lot faster…

Try this out - ask anyone in your life who travels a lot what they think about European tourist taxes. Guaranteed more than 90% won’t even know what you’re talking about, despite paying them for decades. Seriously.

It’s incredible to me just how far the customer service at American Express has fallen. Used to be a premier brand with outstanding support. Now just another awful company to deal with.
