I love rum. I'm really going to miss this one, but I'm grateful for the memories. 1997 Vintage Trois Rivieres Rhum Vieux Agricole from Martinique. Came in a fancy box too, which I ditched a long time ago. Have a great weekend friends.

Twenty years ago, I spent a day with Marc Darroze, who purchased Armagnac from small farmhouse producers and bottled them under his label. We tasted through over a dozen different ones, dating back to pre-WW2. This was my favorite, distilled in 1964. Thanks for the memories.

Feeling a little nostalgic tonight. Enjoying a pour of the first release of Eagle Rare 17 year old, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2000. Damn good bourbon. Cheers friends. Drink the good stuff.

Birthday celebration whisky #3 of 7. A delicious bottling of a 1970 vintage Highland Park single malt scotch, bottled 30 years ago in 1995 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Centenary. Polished and perilously drinkable. Loving the sherry cask influence. Cheers friends.

Birthday (eve) celebration whisky #4 of 7. Popping the top of the legendary Ardbeg Cask #2390, a sherry cask distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2002 for the Feis Ile at 53.1%. Surely one of the best Ardbegs I've ever tasted. Cheers friends!

65th birthday whisky. Distilled 70 years ago. (Five years before I was born.) A 1955 Talisker, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, in 1993, at 53.6% ABV. A stunning expression of Talisker and worthy of this special occasion. Cheers friends!

Birthday week celebration whisky #6 of 7. Popping the top on this beautiful Suntory Yamazaki Pure Malt Sherry Wood matured whisky, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 1997. Rich, seamless, and smartly bottled at 45%. A very special Japanese dram indeed. Cheers!

Birthday week whiskey #7 of 7. Popping the top on Parker's Heritage Collection Golden Anniversary bourbon, released back in 2008 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of master distiller Parker Beam's employment with Heaven Hill Distillery. Great whiskey. Great man. Miss you Parker.
