Isaiah40 “The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable..those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength.” From His limitless resources God renews & empowers those who trust in Him.

Isaiah41 “Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord - with the first of them and with the last - I am he.” God is outside of time yet works within it. He has been there through every generation, including ours!

Isaiah41 “But you, Israel, my servant..whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend..I have chosen you and not cast you off; fear not for I am with you.” What a privilege to be chosen & called God’s friend! NB ‘it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham.’ Gal3

Isaiah41 “For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you..I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.’” Wonderful comfort for God’s people + promises of revival #prayforrevival

Isaiah41 “Tell us the former things..Tell us what is to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods..Behold you are nothing..they are all a delusion; their works are nothing; their metal images are empty wind.” There is one true living God - All other gods are false.

Isaiah42 “Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.” A wonderful prophecy pointing to Jesus, God’s beloved Son who He sent into the world to bring salvation and true justice.

Isaiah42 “He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the streets; a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice.” Beautiful characteristics of Jesus our Saviour & Lord.

Isaiah42 “He will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth..” In this prophecy about Jesus, the coming servant/king, ‘justice’ is mentioned 3x. He alone brings true justice.

Isaiah42 “I will lead the blind in a way they do not know..I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.” Put your trust in the living God for the year ahead.

Isaiah42 “But this is a people plundered and looted; they are all of them trapped in holes..they have become plunder with none to rescue, spoil with none to say, ‘Restore!’” The sad state of God’s people when they turn from God’s ways. The church in the UK can seem like this.

Isaiah42 “Who gave up Jacob to the looter, and Israel to the plunderers? Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, in whose ways they would not walk..whose law they would not obey?” Key issue = God’s people’s relationship with Him/His Word, not the world & its culture.

Isaiah43 “But now thus says the Lord, he who created you..Fear not for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you..” A wonderful promise for those redeemed through Jesus Christ.

Isaiah43 “I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour..you are precious in my eyes, and honoured, and I love you..Fear not, for I am with you.” Beautiful words from God to His covenant people - Jesus’ church in the new covenant. Hold on to them as we begin 2026!

Isaiah43 “I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. I will say to the north , Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth.” A promise of the worldwide appeal of the gospel.

Isaiah43 “You are my witnesses,’ declares the Lord, ‘and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he..I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no saviour.’” Christians are amazingly privileged + We are all called to be witnesses.

Isaiah43 “‘Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me..I declared and saved and proclaimed..and you are my witnesses,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I am God.’ We witness to the fact there is only One true God & One Saviour, Jesus Christ. No room for pluralism!
