7 years today I hosted the Perth City Summit: engaging residents, small business & community about creating a more vibrant, liveable city. Many of the ideas propposed are now progessing under our government: new city campus & CBD activation, CAT bus expansion & new school.

This is our social housing delivery in action. Twelve new social homes being built by Dale Alcock to be completed 9 months from the concrete slab pour. Offsite prefabricated timer framed panels brought together on site - part of our reforms to accelerate social house builds.

Today in Subiaco to announce we’re supporting the construction of nearly 1,700 new apartments through our $80 million Infrastructure Development Fund. And we’ve launched a new rapid EOI process offering industry to propose residential developments on lazy government land.

Fantastic to visit 5 new 4x2 townhouses delivered by Shelford Constructions and Zircon Projects in Belmont and Cloverdale as social homes. Since our record $3.2 billion investment, more than 2,300 social homes have been added & a 1,000 are under contract or construction.

Great to attend the Australian BushSummit & discuss how WA is leading the nation on planning reform & cutting red tape to streamline housing approvals. In contrast the WA Liberals & Nationals who want to reverse our reforms & make it harder to build homes.

Great to see the continued progress of the ECU City Campus to transform the Perth City Link precinct. The $853 million ECU City project is part a collaboration between the Fed Govt, WA Labor Govt and ECU, to deliver Perth’s first inner-city comprehensive university campus.
