Happy first day of Fall! We have worked on projects across the country & have seen some amazing sights, many of which are especially beautiful in the fall. Pictured is the exterior #Dome of the WV State Capitol, where the gilding is enhanced by the autumnal colors of the trees.

Before large-scale cleaning is performed, smaller sections are cleaned using a gentle test solution to discover what type of cleaning solution will work the best. By doing so, the colors can be restored to their original brilliance. #ConservationCleaning #VarnishRemoval

We worked at the US National Archives to design & implement illusionary artwork in the visitor orientation plaza. This mural was meant to simulate the upper portions of the display entablature in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. #CustomMural

Medallions come in a variety of shapes & sizes, and are commonly found on ceilings near the base of a chandelier. Chandelier medallions, such as the one pictured in King’s Chapel in Boston, are quite prevalent and can come in a variety of styles and designs. #OrnamentalPlaster

We have had the opportunity to work on many historic colleges and universities, including Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. At Brown’s John Hay Library, we carefully conserved the historic woodwork & refinished areas of staining & water damage. #WoodworkConservation

Our project at this stunning church involved research, investigation, & development of decorative schemes throughout the interior. Based on the historic design uncovered & scientific paint analysis, the decorative finishes were conserved, consolidated & reinstated. #ChurchDesign

At the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception a portion of our work was to provide conservation services for the 14 Stations of the Cross. We removed a yellowing varnish and in-painted where necessary. Here, you can see part of the conservation cleaning process. #ArtConservation

At the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus we #restored a sign board explaining the history of the building. #Conservation treatment included frame repair, cleaning, repainting the background, in-painting, & reconstructing the lettering. #DecorativePainting #ChurchRestoration

At the Union League of Philadelphia, we restored the historic decoration by the original architects, John Frasier and Horace Trumbauer in the Lincoln Ballroom. Our #decorativepainting and finishing work brought life to the newly constructed ceiling. #NationalLandmark

At St. Mary's Church, we worked with duncan stroik to develop a new #interiordecoration that reflects the Catholic tradition. Part of our work included designing, painting, and fabricating the plaster reredos. Shown is a close-up of the reredos after completion.
