More positive coverage of our great collaboration with Ed Cahoon from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The power of plant biotechnology (published in Plant Biotechnology Journal !).
Important update on the exploitation of our omega-3 technology - really pleased to now be working with NufarmGlobal to help deliver additional new sources of plant-derived EPA+DHA in camelina. nuseed.com/33321-2/
Pleased to be attending the annual #SEBCONFERENCE here in Antwerp (in the zoo - great venue!). Plant Biotechnology Journal is sponsoring a number of sessions including P9-Engineering strategies for achieving SDGs, focusing on translation & field trials.
I should add that it is being hosted by mary williams and the whole topic was developed and organised by Andrew D Hanson Lab. Big credit to Andrew for addressing this very important issue in a positive and collegiate manner.
And we are back! After a brief interlude, PBJ is back on X to bring you updates on all the exciting research we are publishing in our journal. PBJ is co-owned by SEB @sebiology.bsky.social and Annals of Applied Biology and published by Wiley
Innovations to help UK farmers produce 'more from less' are being held back by red tape, an APPG Science & Technology in Agriculture stakeholder meeting has heard - part of the group’s 30:50:50 initiative to produce 30% more food with a 50% lower environmental footprint by 2050. fwi.co.uk/news/farm-poli…
Thank you Bio-Waste Spreader in Private Eye Magazine for pointing Defra UK ministers to the new Science for Sustainable Agriculture UK food security report and its central message that we urgently need to raise farm-level productivity, harnessing the latest advances in agricultural science and innovation.
NGOs' fundraising strategies are built on alarmist claims of ecological collapse due to intensive farming. But the scientific evidence increasingly refutes their fearmongering. Total bird & insect numbers in Britain have been stable for the past 30 years. scienceforsustainableagriculture.com/buttonpearsall…
