Today we remember Police Officer John Stratton who suffered a fatal heart attack on April 25, 1970, in the parking lot of the 7th Police District shortly after an arrest.

Today we remember P/O Robert Smith who died of a heart attack on April 23, 1980, after a two-block foot chase to help capture a man with a knife. #neverforget

Today we remember Sergeant Samuel Hewitt who was shot and killed on April 23, 1947, following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle. #neverforget

Today we remember P/O William Duross who suffered a fatal heart attack on April 15, 1960, shortly after being involved in a vehicle pursuit. #neverforget

Today we remember Sergeant Michael Lingham who succumbed to a gunshot wound on April 14, 1974, while attempting to serve a search warrant during a drug raid.

Today we remember Lieutenant Edward Dohrmann who suffered a fatal heart attack on April 13, 1969, shortly after responding to a single-vehicle rollover accident. #neverforget

Today we remember P/O Louis Vasger who was shot and killed on April 13, 1973, during a robbery of a local bar. #neverforget

Today we remember P/O Alan Lewin who died on April 10, 1975, from injuries suffered when he was struck by a hit-run driver as he was getting into his patrol car. #neverforget

Today we remember P/O Harry Davis who succumbed to a gunshot wound on April 6, 1970, sustained one month earlier when he and his partner responded to a holdup alarm at a local bar. #neverforget

Today we remember P/O James Quigley who was shot and killed on April 3, 1947 following a pursuit of a stolen vehicle. #neverforget

Today we remember P/O Dominic Guglielmi who was killed on March 31, 1972 when he fell down an elevator shaft at Traffic Court, where he was assigned. Officer Guglielmi was a U.S Army veteran and had served with the PPD for 22 years. He was survived by his wife and two children.

Today we remember Patrolman Matthew Clowry who passed away on March 31, 1934, from a gunshot wound he sustained on November 21, 1932. Policeman Clowry had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 22 years. He was survived by his wife and four children.

Today we remember P/O Francis Magro who was killed on March 30, 1977 in a motorcycle crash while on duty. Officer Magro was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 10 years. He was survived by his wife and five children.

Today we remember P/O Vincent Foley who died of a heart attack on March 20, 1949 after a struggle with several young men who were creating a disturbance at a dance in a church near 5th Street and Girard Avenue. He was an 18-year veteran of the force.

Today we remember P/O Thomas Wixted who was struck and killed on March 15, 1942, by a drunk driver while directing traffic outside the Philadelphia Convention Hall. #neverforget
