Super BBC Symphony Orchestra & Chorus afternoon concert with Kristian Sallinen conducting at iconic Maida Vale Studios. Two very different pieces on the programme, both wonderfully played. Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder - beautifully sung by Jess Dandy - and a tremendous Shostakovich’s 9th Symphony.

A lovely picture and sentiment. The plaque unveiling was a wonderful thing and only happened because of dedicated work by stalwarts, not least Vinny M, and generous givers and friends. A special day I will long remember and cherish.

Terrific night’s urgent and compelling theatre seeing Power Of Sail at Menier Chocolate Factory. Written by Paul Grellong and directed by Dominic Dromgoole. Cast including 💚 & Katie Bernstein excellent. Runs until 12 May. Recommend. #powerofsail .

This is one of the best theatrical things on in London at the moment. Story, script, staging, performance, music and sound design. Get yourselves to Riverside Studios before it closes on 11 May. Make sure you can say you saw it.

On this day in 1978, a huge event against nazism took place at Victoria Park in London. Tom Robinson Band, Steel Pulse, X-Ray Spex and The Clash (with Jimmy Pursey) were amongst the bands that appeared.
