The project will be represented by Agnieszka in an orange apocalypse at #LinkedPastsIV "Views from inside the LOD-cloud" next week! Looking forward to discuss with and get feedback from Linked Data experts.

We are an interdisciplinary inter-institutional group hoping to apply our different skills and approaches to tracing the forms of place and the spatial form of Pausanias's Description of Greece—the we being Andrew Fox Johan Åhlfeldt Elton Barker and Kyriaki Konstantinidou

Now Julian Bodgani talks about the development of #PAThs Atlas of Coptic Literature atlas.paths-erc.eu Map visualisation+search by variant toponyms, gazetteer & object identifier, linguistic features (i.e. minor dialects) Shoutout to @Pelagiosproject basemaps Johan Åhlfeldt

@DigitalMapsAW Hi there, the following may be of interest: Johan Åhlfeldt's dare.ht.lu.se; Omnes Viae + vici.org; Ryan Horne + AWMC; and work being done under the @Pelagiosproject umbrella, incl. commons.pelagios.org/2017/09/rdg-up… + commons.pelagios.org/2019/02/we-arr…

A pleasure to have Johan Åhlfeldt at our Centre for Digital Humanities& Social Sciences seminar series in collaboration with UppsalaUniLib. Johan Åhlfeldt discusses among other things, the challenges of digital research infrastructures and linked open data.

New on the blog: The Digital Periegesis’s technical environment periegesis.org/blog/2019/03/0…. Rather than reinvent the wheel, we're trying to reuse and extend methods/tools where possible, with shoutouts to Perseus Digital Library @PleiadesProject @Pelagiosproject

1. PeriegesisHellados is at the moment concerned with the creation of a gazetteer for Athens. No such thing exists; how does one represent art, mythology and monuments in A portion of Athens? Verrall’s translation of the 1890s is a multidisciplinary study Elton Barker Johan Åhlfeldt

Pelagios is one of my fave #DigitalHumanities infrastructures. Is there a Swedish connection? Yes! I believe Johan Åhlfeldt helped create its Roman map layers, pelagios.org/maps/greco-rom… The map tiles are licensed CC-BY. #OpenData #WhatDidTheRomansEverDoForUs?

@SarahEBond @[email protected] 🇺🇦🏴☠️ Walter Scheidel Elton Barker Ryan Horne ... a new database has been launched that focuses on plague in late antiquity: climatechangeandhistory.princeton.edu/justinianic-pl…. I can't say anything specific about the mapping components of either project yet. Deciding when & where specific diseases are found in specific populations is next challenge.
