Merry Christmas everyone, especially my ScotRail colleagues who work hard all year round & some of you will even work today. Thank you for everything. It’s Duke’s last Christmas and his wish is that no matter how you celebrate today - or don’t - go easy and be kind to yourself.

All of the teams ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland have been working over the weekend to prepare for the weather warning and we will do our very best to keep you moving safely, but please check before you travel as journeys may take longer than normal.

Due to unsafe water levels we cannot run trains between Inverness & Perth ScotRail. Weather conditions are impacting services so please check before you travel. Thanks to all the teams on the ground working hard to keep you moving where possible ScotRail Network Rail Scotland

2024 has been a year I wouldn’t want to repeat. Thank you to colleagues for their hard work & support, some of whom will work late today to get customers home, and some will work tomorrow to get everything ready for the 2nd. ScotRail I hope 2025 is kind to us all.

Great trip to Largs today continuing our focus on making sure we are prepared to serve our customers every weekend and getting the chance to engage with colleagues on the way ScotRail … and enjoying scenic views from the train.

We will not be running services today ScotRail due to weather conditions and warnings in place. Once warnings are lifted colleagues Network Rail Scotland will be out working hard to check if it is safe to reopen the railway. Please stay safe and follow advice on travel.

It’s been so hot over the last couple of days, I hope everyone is staying hydrated. Duke has been kept home in the shade and not allowed out on his beloved trains ScotRail , but ice cream has helped him get over it …

Great visit to ScotRail Inverness this week, time with the amazing team up there, from station staff to train crew, depot and management team. Brilliant to see our trains busy and Inverness teeming with tourists VisitScotland

Duke is off on his summer holidays…he’s been promised there’s a beach involved … two trains so far, one more to go… Duke loves to travel ScotRail

And so it’s the end of Dukes mini break of beach and swimming in the highlands… A lovely journey home, chatting to friendly ScotRail colleagues on our journey and a chance meeting with Frank Roach meant chewing the fat on all things HITRANS and Friends of the Far North.

So pleased we made it in before the rain started bouncing… early morning walk with Duke - stage v lymphoma and given around two months to live eight months ago… walks are shorter and he’s out of breath quicker but still a very happy boy beating all the odds against him
