Working-class women face continuous judgement from the middle-classes. Many of those living in poverty with children have probably undergone years of assessments – social workers, DWP, teachers. The last thing they need is someone telling them how to feed their children on beans.

The Princess of Wales looks to be launching a sincere & thoughtful campaign, but it's kind of wild that Sure Start was an evidence-based solution to the problems she's raising, was evaluated and found to be wonderfully successful, and we're sort of pretending it wasn't cut.

1 million council houses need to be built immediately & the halt of right to buy. There is no other solution every other trick has failed. House prices are in freefall – and so is Britain’s national faith in property ownership | Housing | The Guardian theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

I grew up in a commuter town, I thought about moving back to buy. The season ticket is £7716/yr, or £740/month. Basically any savings on housing are wiped out by commuting, and I lose an extra c.2hrs a day to be sat/stood on a crowded train.

So another day, another article about the lack of working class folk in the arts. Another call for outreach and mentorship Well I say FUCK THAT There is no aspiration gap There is no need to show WC people what’s ‘possible’ There is simply a practicality gap A money gap
