Before I owned cats I just assumed this was some weird bit of mid-70s King Mob surrealism. Now I own cats I realise it's just an undeniable truth that must be expressed.

How many times do I have to bring an outdoor cat indoors in torrential rain before it's not him that's the idiot for going back outside... but me? I think 5. Is it 5?

In memory of the great Maggie Smith – she and Kenneth Williams reading Death in Leamington to John Betjeman, who obviously loved it.

I have loved the film Evil under the Sun for longer than I care to remember. Daphne Castle may not be the role that most people think of when Maggie Smith comes to mind, but I will forever be grateful to her for her unrivalled ability for subtle sarcasm. #RIPMaggieSmith

Sweep is one of the very greatest performers I have ever seen. Eric Morecambe in cloth form. This cannot be watched enough. The fact he's playing Silver Machine by Hawkwind makes it even funnier.
