"Kristen Day of Democrats For Life said the legislation would harm people in need who are pregnant because it doesn’t provide them with resources for healthier, more equitable lives." Gotta be #WholeLife for Maryland! No on the #AbortionAmendment! No on HB705!

it is of course bad enough that Gender Studies ND explicitly supports the violence of "abortion care" through a new lecture series, but et tu, Institute for Social Concerns, Notre Dame? a *co-sponsor* of a lecture series dedicated to undermining prenatal justice? is this real life? genderstudies.nd.edu/events-and-new…

“I’m the only Democrat that’s joined the resolution, as you know. But with that, I believe there’s other people that feel the same as I do, just haven’t spoken out on this." Senator Joe Manchin certainly isn’t the only Democrat who wants limitations and regulations around abortion.

This headline presents abortion as the first line of defense against teen pregnancy and child poverty. Opposing an abortion ban is one thing. Absolving individuals, families, communities, states, and federal government of due responsibility is something different.

Community Notes pushes back on the inane "there is no heart!" talking point. By 6-7 weeks the embryonic heart uses coordinated muscle contractions to unidirectionally pump blood through veins to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. Plenty of sources: secularprolife.org/hearts/

Amber undoubtably deserved better. the glaring omission here, though, is the fact that she'd taken *legal* abortion pills. her child was dead from a legal abortion; without a heartbeat, the GA law wouldn't prohibit a D&C at all. this is clearly the doctors' fault, not the law's

Georgia's abortion law didn't make a D&C in Thurman's situation a felony. It doesn't prevent interventions if either (1) there's no detectable heartbeat or (2) there's a medical emergency. Thurman's situation checks both boxes. A woman died from medical incompetence after
