It's frustrating how much this company is trying to weasel their way in. Manga is built off the backs of hardworking people at every level and the presence of AI undermines that completely.

Anime NYC is part of the Awards, but so is Japan Society Film and Deb Aoki, the latter of which did a ton of the heavy-lifting and organizing, down to producing the winner envelopes.

Every time I saw someone with an Orange bag at ANYC, I wanted to pull them aside and hold an intervention. AI companies act like they don't need loc workers, but they do, at every level--and the AI output is bad enough that it's actually MORE work to fix despite much lower rates.
