During the last clear weekend I completed my 8th annual capture of Barnard's star to show its rapid proper motion. Here it is! #Astrophotography

Insane rain and thunder here west of Salt Lake City in Tooele Co. this morning. Some of the hardest rain I've ever seen here. The lightning and thunder was non-stop throughout and at 6:45 AM is still continuing. Sorry it's not quite in focus. NWS Salt Lake City #utwx

Lovely colors on the clouds nearly 30 minutes after sunset tonight. The cam got them more vibrantly than the eye saw. Batten down the hatches for the rain a-comin'! #utwx

Comet Lemmon time lapse from northern Utah, 27 October 2025. Filled with Starlinks. Taken with Canon R7, 18-150mm 5 second exposures at ISO 6400. Get it while you can, she's beautiful!

Resurrected after more 22 years, a stacked photo of Mars I took in August 2003 when it was at the closest to Earth for thousands of years. Taken with a Canon D30 handheld up to the eyepiece, forgotten about, and the 22 "frames" just now stacked, lol. Stellarium showed the right.

I'm recording a video for later but here's a cruddy phone photo of the aurora visible in northern Utah. Get out there and see if you can see it! #aurora #utwx

More to come when the cam camera battery charges but here's the first hour of tonight's aurora from northern UT. I need more exposure time next time! #utwx #Aurora youtube.com/watch?v=WSTu-q…

One good final flare from tonight's aurora in northern Utah around 9:30-10:00 PM and then pretty quiet. Let's hope tomorrow night overachieves again. There's a chance! #utwx #northernlights #Aurora youtube.com/watch?v=SnITvZ…

Wow. The mask really slips. Apparently we're too stupid to build missiles or chips without importing endless H-1B migrants who never seem to leave.
