my cofounder is raving about Legend — who’s heard of it? “one of the most exciting things happening in react native” — verbatim my cofounder who finds nothing exciting except number going up well done Jay Meistrich 🥳

I’m currently building an Expo app and discovered Legend State by Jay Meistrich, and I’m especially liking the sync and persist stuff. Sync engines are notoriously tough to make and the good ones tend to get publicity. But I haven’t heard anyone talk about Legend State 🫣 Jay

Sol is now using Jay Meistrich LegendList. FlatList was super slow and required a lot of manual tweaking to avoid performance pitfalls. On particular example was the emoji picker, which has a lot of rows. It was (with some minor exceptions) a pain free migration

We have published a new docs website for React Native macOS! This is one of the common asks ("better docs") I've gotten for the library, and I'm excited to see what we can add.

Coming soon, a big rewrite of Legend List that: - is much simpler internally - improves performance - makes initialScrollIndex and scrollToIndex/End perfectly accurate - fixes many bugs - deletes 10% of the code - takes mount time from pretty fast to ZERO

Legend List v2 is looking good! All the improvements I wanted to make are done, and it seems to be running smoothly. So I think we'll have a 2.0 alpha this week 🎉 But first I put Claude Code on this big refactor I've been wanting to do for months, one step/commit at a time...
