Looking forward to this new addition to the growing literature by veterans of the ANC's camps in Angola. It seems timely as divisions among veterans have played out in recent South African politics. dailymaverick.co.za/article/2021-0…

We have good reason to be excited about this hoe! Thanks to some fantastic work by our JRA Harry we know it was made by Kavela (pictured below), a blacksmith living near the last bend in River Poponde before Mupa. Learn more: makingafricanconnections.org/s/archive/item…

Oh, what a DAY! I just found out that the ITV News Meridian feature on #ThreeKingsOfBotswana project by Brighton & Hove Black History & commissioned by University of Sussex aired today too. If anyone spots the link, please do share. 3 Kings came to Brighton in 1895 to stop Cecil Rhodes bit.ly/3kz0YEk

Shocked & sad to hear of the death of Paulo Lara. His contribution to preserving the documented history of Angola, was colossal. The results of years of work by Paulo & his sister Wanda can be seen here. 1/6 tchiweka.org

Did we forget how much sacrifice our nurses have given during pandemic? I saw them shed tears with relatives, hold phones for patients to speak to loved ones and stand firmly when their lives were at risk. Honoured to have served alongside them. They need your support now.
