ICYMI, May is Mental Health Awareness Month! I think we're all pretty well versed in what poor mental health looks like, so I've been spending May reflecting on how the hell you know you have *good* mental health. My juicy thoughts on the subject >>> bit.ly/3GVbRh3

If you're struggling, like so many of us are, know that you're not alone. And more importantly, you don't have to struggle alone. We're not meant to. Image source: Allyson Dinneen

This Mental Health Awareness Month, let's put some thought and attention to how we know we have GOOD mental health, too. I find this series incredibly useful. Image credit: Happiness Project

I’m allowed to feel good about myself simply because I’m me. Not because of my résumé. Not because someone else approves. But because I’m trying, I’m growing, I care. The work of adulthood is this—learning to root your worth inside yourself. Image credit: Rukmini Poddar

Happy PRIDE! This month, I am both celebrating and holding space for the full-spectrum queer experience—loud, quiet, complicated, joyful, scared, and proud in private. Despite what the Feds think, you are valid. You are enough. You are not alone. 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ Image credit: Katie Abey

Like Rumi wrote, you're not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop. And so is everyone else around you. Let's be good to each other. Image credit: Andy J. Pizza

If we're to do anything important in our time on this earth we've got to learn self-compassion, and practice it every day–in order to keep ourselves going. It's transformative–not just for ourselves, but for everyone around us. Thanks to Hayleykaye for this brilliant tool.

On this #LovingDay, I celebrate my parents. I honor the Lovings. And I stay committed to a future where love isn’t legislated or feared — it’s honored. Because the truth is, the fight for dignity and belonging is not over. Love remains a radical act. And we're not going anywhere.

Love makes us ungovernable. It binds us to each other, not to systems. In this time of control and division, I want my love to be radical. Image credit: @theuniverse_calling (on Instagram)

Happy #FathersDay to you, my beloved husband Dan, and all the other dads who are showing up for their kids every day and truly re-creating the role of father.

Looking back on my adult life, I’ve gone through a number of major transitions. I’m listing them in chronological order over on Julie's Pod, as each inevitably contributed to what came next. Give it a read >>> bit.ly/3ZuhNEg

The stress we are imposing as parents on our children, during what should be a lovely time of life–childhood–is so problematic. I enjoyed joining Lady Party Podcast for a frank conversation on how overparenting is stealing our kids' confidence. Head to Spotify or Apple to listen!

I find #Juneteenth bittersweet. Sweet cuz folks finally learned they were free. Bitter cuz the yoke was on them 2.5 years longer than it had to be. There was fake news and gaslighting then just as there is now. May we all mark Juneteenth as a call to continue the work.
