Today is the 13th anniversary of the passing of former ESPN PR colleague Kim Jessup. “The Colonel” was only 29 when we lost her in May 2011. There is a tree ESPN in Bristol, planted in her memory. Gone way too soon.

Howie wore his heart on his sleeve. And at the end of every voicemail message—no matter how fired up he was about a topic— “best to your family” was automatic. He was a true original who cared deeply about ESPN and people.
