Planning a multi-day archival research trip feels like my own Operation Neptune. Choosing big docs or small docs to see first is my version of choosing which beach to land on.

I can't be the only one who uses the nose to focus their phone's camera in an archive ... or unroll a document, weight it, and tell it "stay" ... surely not...

Amazing to find a Newbury wooden 'bedstead' grave marker in Arlesey, Beds., 153 years on and still legible!

It takes too many clicks to access the search of The National Archives, so I created this Chrome extension, which is super handy!

Great to attend the 15th century conference this year at Durham. Fascinating papers and what a place to have it!

Very cool to find a depiction of Henry VIII on a letters patent (re)founding a monastery in 1538, slap bang in the middle of the monasteries being closed!
