Really good questioning on IEEPA's intent: to constrain presidential powers vs the TWEA - directly counter to the admin's claims of IEEPA's broad grant of unlimited power

Supreme Court IEEPA Case: Funnily enough, in the first 10 seconds of the clip President Trump emphasizes the fact tariffs are bringing in revenue to lower the deficit/debt. That’s the exact argument against IEEPA tariffs brought to the court today. #IEEPA #Tariffs #Trump

The False Promise of Rent Control: Given the recent election results in NYC, thought I would resurface my research on rent control. It’s temporarily good for the people who get access and it’s bad for everyone else. #NYC #Mamdani americanactionforum.org/research/the-f…

The President just proposed a $2,000 tariff “dividend” for each person, excluding high-income earners. If the cutoff is $100,000, 150M adults would qualify, for a cost near $300 billion. If kids qualify, that grows. Only problem, new tariffs have raised $120 billion so far.

US Tariff News: President Trump now seems to prioritize $2000 tariff payments to citizens before using the revenue to pay down debt. Reminders: • There is still a large budget deficit even with the added tariff revenue • Farmers will be paid tens of billions of dollars

My latest for American Action Forum investigates President Trump's claims that meat packers are engaging in price fixing to drive up beef prices. Yet the data do not support this. Its likely that other economic and natural forces could be behind rising beef prices. americanactionforum.org/insight/unpack…

The U.S. and China have rolled back last month’s trade-war escalations, honoring the Trump–Xi de-escalation pact. The steps suggest both sides agree a hot trade war serves no one. americanactionforum.org/shipment/china…

“By admitting that lowering tariffs will lower prices for U.S. consumers, the Trump administration is acknowledging what economists have pointed out all along: tariffs raise prices,” said Erica York. wsj.com/economy/trade/… via The Wall Street Journal
