After reading Brad Meltzer’s “Ordinary People Change the World” book about Dr. MLK Jr., our Igo 2nd and 3rd graders use #PebbleGo to record facts about his life! ❤️ #MLKDay2023 Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

This week in the Igo Library, we have been celebrating the Caldecott Awards! Our 4th and 5th scholars have been evaluating picture books published in 2022 and voting for their favorite. Which one will win our first ever #MockCaldecottAward? ♥️📚♥️ Igo Elementary School Jarrell ISD

As we continue our celebration of the Caldecott Awards in the Igo Library, our PreK, Kinder, and 1st graders have been reading Caldecott Winner “Kitten’s First Full Moon” and illustrating their own thoughts using black and white like Kevin Henkes! ♥️📚♥️Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

Ready to begin your career in education?? Jarrell ISD has just the position for you. Come and talk with us at the Concordia University Texas job fair! #ctxjobfair

We have been celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth in the Igo Library by reading beautiful books created by black authors! After reading “Each Kindness” by Jacqueline Woodson, we decorated rocks to remember that kindness creates ripples like a stone in water. Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

We have had some fun dress-up days so far this week celebrating #ReadAcrossAmerica2023, but there isn’t anything much cuter than these Kinder historical figures! 🥰 Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

Yesterday the Sun City Mad Hatters performed their rendition of “The Three Little Pigs” for our Igo Elementary School Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grade students! They loved every minute and are still singing “Who’s afraid of the big, bad wolf!?” 🐷🧱🐺 Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

Thank you to the Sun City Mad Hatters for presenting “Peter Rabbit” to our Igo PreK students yesterday! They loved every minute! 🐰Igo Elementary School Jarrell ISD

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in the Igo Library have been reviewing their dictionary skills in preparation for their upcoming STAAR tests, and this fun scoot has brought out the competitiveness of many kiddos! 🐾🤓 Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

Our 2nd graders have been learning about Dr. Temple Grandin by reading “The Girl Who Thought in Pictures” by Julia Finley Mosca and creating our own version of Temple based on the illustrations of Daniel Reiley! As one scholar stated “we are all special!” Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

Our entire school read the book “Because of Winn-Dixie” by Kate DiCamillo, and to celebrate this perfect book, we had a door decorating contest. This recreation of Gloria Dump’s tree was the winner! Students wrote about their own mistakes, too! 🥰 Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School

The Igo Elementary School Library will be hosting a book fair from May 1st through May 5th! We hope to see you there! 📚♥️🥳 Jarrell ISD

The Igo Elementary School Book Fair is ready! Come check out all the amazing books from #LiteratiBookFairs! ♥️📚♥️

The Igo Library was gifted one brand new book for every student in the school by Toys for Tots and the kids were so excited! Thank you for your generous donation to our young readers! 🥰 Jarrell ISD Igo Elementary School
