A friend immigrated to Canada in 1980. His parents rented a "Toronto-adjacent" townhouse where they live to this day. House prolly would have cost ~$60K-to-$70K at that time. House today would be worth well over a million. I think about that more than I probably should.

I used to teach a 4th year course in Investments at a Canadian university. Think all the usual suspects…CAPM, Beta, optimal capital structure, yadda, yadda, yadda… …I wish I was still teaching ‘cuz this would ABSOLUTELY go into my CAPM lecture!

Amen. This is why, in 90+% of cases, I don’t even think of selling for at least 2 years (service recommendations or personal accounts). Exceptions granted for stocks that get caught up by meme stock idiots and activist plays that reach anticipated conclusion.
