Cruise ships aren’t even that bad. They spend a lot of time in port so they don’t burn that much heavy bunker fuel. The giant container ships are much, much, much worse. Bunker oil is so thick it’s often pre-heated just to get it to flow properly. x.com/PGDynes/status…

The thing I hate most about Facades is how easy they are to test. The thing I hate most about Eloquent is how easy it is to use inline OR put behind a repository class. But the worst part of both is how optional they are to use.

Watching videos about the Saturn V and even though what SpaceX is doing is amazing, it lacks the sheer audacity of what we were trying in the 60s. Also learning about how even if we wanted to build a Rocketdyne F1 engine right now, we couldn’t. The ability is lost to the ages.
