I’ve had 2 authenticity complaints this week. Both were resolved within 24 hours. I sent in 20+ invoices, and let Amazon know I had plenty more. Maybe I’ve got a jealous competitor…who knows? Make sure you sourcing from legit suppliers. Amazon doesn’t play around.

If you’re not buying from legitimate suppliers, you’re playing with fire. eBay, thrift stores, bin stores, FB market place, returned pallets…are not the places to source new items. If the brand doesn’t directly work with the source, you’re asking for trouble.

The worst part of Amazon are the policy compliance emails…or whatever you call them (authenticity, IP…) I dread checking my email first thing in the morning. Without fail all bad emails come in the middle of the night.

The real Amazon gurus are IMO: -profiting $1mil+/ year -deal with the same suppliers year after year -aren’t chasing any deal they can find/ shiny objects -aren’t on social media -could care less about networking -sell boring, replenishable products

Some days this feels like work. Really it’s light duty. I often recall picking sweet corn, in 95 degree heat, with humidity to match. Sold it for a $1.25 a dozen at the farmers market. That’s real work.

I was just in the UPS store dropping off my packages. A guy was in there with over 40 Amazon returns. All worn/ used clothing. Ridiculous. I’d venture to say 75%+ of the UPS stores volume, comes from Amazon returns.

Dealing with returns is truly aggravating. 4.2% on 2500+ orders per month is still a big number, for a one man show. I don’t envy the shoes/ clothing sellers. The demand for used clothes/ shoes is small, compared to the amount of returns. I guess most get donated or landfilled.

Just doing some rough math. Some of my competitors are easily profiting $3mil+/ year. Most have a large FBM presence, along with FBA. I need to step up my game.

Just shoot from the hip, and figure it out as you go. Too many worry about processes, building a team, getting into wholesale, the latest software…Lots of talk, very little action. Sell a bunch of stuff, make a bunch of money. Things have a way of working themselves out.

Gurus bragging about dropping $5K, 15K…on inventory. I spent $50K the past 6 days, and I’ll do the same next week, probably more. 7 months since opening my account, lapping the “Amazon veterans”. I’m still missing out on all the credit card rewards, and all that extra spend.

$100K weeks are work! Still no prep center, no trendy software, no VA’s, no credit cards…just me out of my garage. Keeping the money printer simple. Sometimes you just have to be willing to work more.
