I’m on the #EconJobMarket! School districts have been eliminating achievement-based admissions in an effort to promote access to the most sought-after schools for disadvantaged and underrepresented students. But what happens when this change occurs, and can we do better? 1/12

While econ can and should do better at this, I feel compelled to mention that I flunked out of a masters in accounting program in my 20s and then spent two years as a snowboard instructor in Lake Tahoe, but was able to get a TT job in 2023. Second chances are still possible.
