Claude Code has been absolutely swarmed lately. Can't get any work done on it. Wasn't interested in Gemini before this but decided to give it a try today... Let's see!

That didn't last long at all... Hit my gemini-2.5-pro limit so quickly and got downgraded into gemini-2.5-flash. Then flash instantly started throwing errors to me sigh. What else can I use as a backup / replacement to Claude Code? Preferably something cli based.

I haven't used Cloudflare Pages for quite some time now, interesting to see that we can now just drag and drop some files to create a new deployment instead of adding a git repository. Perfect for a simple teaser site that I built for my budget app.

Here's a simple teaser site for the budget app that I've been working on. I'd say about 80% there but I'm also constantly fighting the urge to add more features / make it more polished sigh... Heads down until I ship. firebudget.org

About 1-week into building the app, I changed my mind on the stack. The backend is now running on Rails + PostgreSQL. A highly opinionated framework like Rails is perfect for vibe coding since a lot of the instructions can be implicit.

If your Claude Code is stuck at a particular problem and just keep going around in circle... Use planning mode, or ultrathink to continue. Sometimes that gives it new insights / data to solve the problem.

What do you use to design your logos? Any recommendation for a good AI logo generator that could design based on prompts alone? Looking for something simple for my app FireBudget. Ideally I could export the design in svg or other vector format.

I don't know if there are some Claude servers out there running quantized / dumber models, but another thing I try when I'm stuck in a loop is to /exit then reconnect on a new session. Sometimes that works when ultrathink fails.

What is everyone's favorite platform for hosting Rails apps nowadays? A month ago it was probably still Heroku, but I'm guess it's no longer true after their recent downtime? newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/why-reliabil…

Currently split between using Hatchbox + DO VPS, or DO App Platform, or Railway mostly. Trying to decide between convenience vs cost hmmm

Tried using GPT o3 today to vet my draft feature requirements produced by CC / Sonnet. It was able to point out many missing pieces. It seems to think further ahead + more comprehensively... Kindda nice. I can see it becoming part of my vibe coding workflow moving forward.

Out of old habit, I was building FireBudget iteratively... the agile way supposedly. But with AI, I should've thought bigger and further and build in all the foundations from the get-go... Currently going through some major changes because of that mistake.

Good thing about vibe coding, I can still be productive (somewhat) while fighting through a fever + stomach flu + diarrhea 😭

This has been my experience as well. When I swapped my backend from FastAPI to Rails, I noticed a large increase in development velocity. I think opinionated frameworks really shine for vibe coding

I'm really liking this command. ❤️ It helps to really discuss the incoming changes with Claude Code first, drill down what's truly necessary and what's not, challenge the assumptions on complex tasks before we get down to the actual implementations.

Spot on! The first 80% of FireBudget was just gliding through AI. Now that I'm at the last 20% it's full of friction... Heads down keep grinding 💪🏻

When Claude Code gets stuck on a problem and doesn't seem to get any nearer, try to start a new session, ask it to fetch the documentation via context7 or give it the specific documentation URL, then ask it to check the implementations. A lot of times it'd get unblocked.
