I recently visited a known site for Lady Clermont's Spleenwort, Asplenium x clermontiae. This hybrid between Wall-rue (A. ruta-muraria) and Maidenhair Spleenwort (A. trichomanes) is surprisingly rare, given how common the parents are, and is known from only two sites in Britain.

Hi @BroadGavin, a room in my house is suddenly full of ichneumon wasps (I assume from the log pile) ten or so in the last three days. Smaller males and larger females, males with white faces. I'm assuming they're impossible to ID but thought I'd ask.

A mystery allium from a wood in Thetford. Working through Stace gets me to Allium roseum - but no trace of pink on the flowers. White form? Or some other similar species? Any thoughts Mick Crawley?

I've found 6 of these guys - wasps masquerading as Staphylinid beetles - scurrying about near my woodpile. Anyone recognise them? @BroadGavin

Some moths from a Scottish bog. Could these be 1. Smoky Wave? 2.Crambus ericella? (Or silvella?) And 3. is a mystery thing that I photographed very badly. UK Moth Identification

Pretty sure this is Zyginella pulchra from North Lincs. According to NBN, here it's close to the northern edge of its range.

Hi Tristan Bantock, I swept this from a mixed patch of aspen and white poplar. Looks like Idiocerus tremulae on your site, but is it safe to record?

Hi Tristan Bantock, I swept this a couple of hours ago from Mugwort & have been trying to March it to a species on the website. After a bit of googling I found a note in HetNews mentioning Dicyphus tamaninii with a picture that seems to match - but I'm no expert! What do you think?

Going for a walk with friends without shooting at wildlife and dumping 50 million non-native captive-bred birds into the countryside is also available.

De-extinctifying something is a pretty special feeling, de-extinctifying something in your home country (#Wales) is even more so, writing about it for Plantlife 100th issue of their ‘Plantlife’ members magazine was quite emotional!

I've only just discovered that there's a set of superb Danish books on bugs (Miridae, Lygaeidae and shieldbugs) and lacewings freely downloadable from larsskipper.dk. Very generous! In Danish, but amazing pics
