The icona research team is making the best of the trip to #Italy, after a great session at #ecrs2024, they are now exploring the #CO2 seeps of Italy. First stop, Ischia, the first CO2 seep to be used for #ocean #acidification #research. Hosted by Nuria Texido. Agostini Sylvain

🌍 Excited to share FAO's report on tackling invasive species in a changing climate! 🐠 With Holden E. Harris and Jason Hall-Spencer , we presented a case study on managing invasive lionfish and shared lessons in sustainable fisheries management. 🌊 doi.org/10.4060/cd1400…

Litterina littorea #winkles more than twice as big as Plymouth’s here in Bodo Norway. Severe corrosion to the apices in the old ones, maybe due to low carbonate saturation in the Arctic. As seen at CO2 seeps in Japan and Italy.

THREAD: 1. PERSONAL NEWS: Today BBC News has announced plans to close BBC HARDtalk after 3 decades holding the world’s politicians and powerbrokers to account. This is sad news for me personally, but much more important, I think it’s depressing news for the BBC🧵

COP29 will over-run as envoys work out how to finance a 1 Trillion USD climate emergency fund. I was impressed by the Ocean Pavilion and the Virtual Ocean Pavilion cop29oceanpavilion.vfairs.com - the issues they raised will gain in prominence at COP30.
