Asked an FSA employee what we can improve on as crop agents when working with them since ECAP is coming up. Her answer? — Stop being arrogant, have some patience, and treat them with some respect. That answer doesn’t surprise me honestly…

Dear DOGE USDA Dept. of Agriculture Risk Management Agency, Please consult with a CPA or an accounting firm that understands tax law. Your definitions of "Gross Income" for purposes of the CCC-943 form and ECAP payments make no sense and are not consistent across entity types. Please DM me.

ATTN Cattle Producers If you raised an ECAP eligible crop (hay oats, hay barley, silage corn, etc.) with the intended use of forage or grazing, make sure you have those acres reported to FSA for 2024 as they are eligible for the ECAP payment.

Is there a tariff on used farm equipment purchased in Canada and imported back to the states? Anyone know this answer or have someone I can chat with? Trying to get an answer and striking out online.

If you are ag producer anywhere near Fargo -- this would be a good meeting to show up to and hear what interest groups/non-producers have on ag in general.

So now the farm credit system is going to be able to quote all AIP's for crop insurance in their own generic system? Anyone else heard this?

The taxes and fees on a car rental are insane. We used a 2024 Subaru Ascent for 4 days in Denver. Quoted price was $53.28/day. After taxes and fees, it was $83.92/day -- a 57.5% increase over quoted price. It was still worth it and not crazy expensive, but WTF....

Does anyone have info or a link to the bill that was proposed about giving banks the same tax treatment on land loans that Farm Credit gets? Someone told me it was proposed, but I can’t find it.

I’ve reintroduced the FARMER Act to strengthen crop insurance and make higher levels of coverage more affordable for producers. This will reduce the need for disaster aid, provide more protection, and give farmers flexibility in their risk management choices.

Storms go through this weekend and nothing happens. Then a nice, calm, no wind morning and this happens. Hate to lose the biggest and oldest tree on the block.

The IRS is complete garbage. I've been hung up on 3x times this morning trying to get a letter addressed that shouldn't have ever been sent. Unleash DOGE on the IRS for a year or more and let them clean house/update systems. Department of Government Efficiency DOGE IRS IRS Tax Pros

For those affected by the storms/straight line winds in Hope/Page, ND areas. I'd be on the lookout for a possible USDA program too. governor.nd.gov/news/armstrong…
