I'm deeply alarmed by the sentences handed to climate activists today over peaceful protests. I agree with the UN Special Rapporteur that this "marks a very dark day for fundamental human rights in the UK" I'll be raising this and our draconian anti-protest laws in Parliament.

Over 2000 sign an open letter to the GMC objecting to the suspension of climate activist doctors. Dr Benn and Dr Warner were suspended this year following their referral by the GMC to the tribunal service. Dr Hart (pictured) has a tribunal scheduled in 2025. /1

I know Dr Hart to a be an ethical, caring, humane Doctor who is acting in the best interests of all us. The real question is who is NOT acting in our interest - the clear answer is the oil and fossil fuel companies and those that regulate, finance and insure them.

There is a real disgrace at the heart of our criminal justice system where a working Dr like Pat, protesting at the treacherous lack of activity from governments on THE greatest health threat humanity has ever faced, are incarcerated for a year. Where are our priorities ? Where?
