Pressure's been on artists to shoulder risk for a long time, even pre-covid, but much worse now. Venues are struggling, but 'playing it safe' can only go on for so long - audiences will get bored, artists will burn out. We need new work, & it needs CASH support (not just in-kind)

At this stage, I feel that everyone involved in this is complicit. The cops, the policy makers, the comms team, the graphics people, the social media admin who posted it.

I’m not sure my compassion and understanding can extend through to any of those who were involved here.

Heard a few stories of outrageous behaviour towards writers recently. By people who make a big noise about inclusion and making the industry accessible but treat writers like a free development resource.
