There’s really no reason to run a separate server for MCP. It can easily be supported by endpoints on your existing app. I think we will see the concept of MCP servers gradually fade away and be replaced by MCP endpoints.

Introducing: const { userId } = await auth({ acceptsToken: "oauth_token" }) Overnight, MCP's spec for agent auth created near-ubiquitous demand for a built-in OAuth Provider Now you can offer an OAuth Provider in a few clicks, AND easily build HTTP handlers for access_tokens

Super proud of the team that has been working long and hard on this set of foundational features. We still have a bunch more work planned here, and some very exciting MCP announcements to follow 👀

Use Clerk auth for your MCP server 🚀 We're compliant to the 2025-06-18 MCP spec. It's the easiest way to operate an authenticated MCP server

The last several months of my my life have been fully dedicated to this project, and I am very thrilled to finally have this release out. And of course, grateful to the team who helped to get it across the line 🙌💖

I absolutely love the way that Jack Herrington is building for and demonstrating real-world utility for MCP integrations 👏👏 youtube.com/watch?v=eRyTy8…

Is there any insult more hilarious than calling someone a "carpetbagger"? I feel like that's the best one. Old timey insults like this are 🤌

Do AI tools actually make developers more productive? There was recently a study on this and the results were fascinating. tl;dr: - They did a study with OSS devs resolving bugs/issues with one group that could, and one group that could not use AI tools to help them - Devs, AI

Writing an MCP service as a developer is so incredibly frustrating right now. The number of hours I have spent trying to get a bare bones MCP service with auth running on major providers (claude desktop, claude code, vs code, cursor, windsurf, cline, chatgpt) is downright

We gotta tune the AI hype-fluencers out of the feed. It leads devs to think there's some AI silver bullet for coding. It doesn't exist. If I just use this MCP server, or run 20 subagents across terminals, or get the perfect rule crafted, only *then* will AI suddenly work!

Happy to announce that today marks my Day 1 journey as a Staff Product Engineer at Clerk 🚀 Watching this company expand beyond authentication to a complete User Management platform is something I've admired and wanted to put my fingerprint on for a while now. I'm looking

This article represents my concerns about AI pretty concisely: theatlantic.com/economy/archiv… There's no question that it's super useful in many cases, I use it all the time personally. But as it stands, is broadly misunderstood and overhyped, and not delivering returns anywhere close

Clerk Integration — Launch Week Day 3 Auth is usually the hardest part of building with AI tools. With Leap + Clerk, you can now just ask for auth. Leap implements the flow, configures your API keys, sets up user management, and connects your staging environments, all
