I was told in my earliest days as a psychologist to wear more makeup to attract clients, to cover my tattoos, and a supervisor once said I had to stop dressing like I was at a “garden party.” Here’s your reminder to stay yourself. Authenticity always wins.

Before we run to judge people who “aren’t doing enough to heal” I want to remind us all that while trauma is FREE and available to ANYone, healing is expensive AF, and not accessible to all.

Emotional reactivity is so common because few of us learned to self regulate as children. Confidence comes when we can witness our emotions come and go, rather than reacting to our own emotional state.
