If you run a business, please put at least 30% away for taxes. And learn the tax deduction game because it’s a game changer. Don’t let running these LLCs ineffectively and careless financial planning bury you.

Think about it like this… Let’s say you make $100k in 2022 through your LLC. With no deductions, having to pay self employment taxes and federal taxes, you could have to pay around $30k. That $100k looks good, but you have to do right by it.

These are notes from my accountant. This will be my first year in business for myself, so they took me through a crash course. I’m just passing the information along to all of my fellow business owners.

Be careful with suppressing those big feelings and sweeping situations under the rug. Those buried feelings and unaddressed emotions tend to spill over into other facets of your life and emerge as undesirable traits and qualities.

As a children’s therapist, I give my kids the space to just be free & exist outside of the restrictions they may face at school. A few of my kids love this part of the couch. They come in, take their shoes off, and lay down for 5-10 minutes. I love their ability to decompress.

Take a few moments to draw your favorite memory. Be very specific. Try to remember all of the small details and capture them. Then sit with that joy & appreciate it.

When I need to give myself grace, I validate myself by saying that I “jumped off the porch” hella early with my business and remind myself that I’m thriving without being taught most of this stuff. That slows my brain down so much.

Just finished 8 months of full-time entrepreneurship. Wins: - bills are paid - I’m doing what I want to do, in my own way - my freedom & flexibility are unmatched Lessons: - plan better for ”down periods” - find ways to scale the business - remember where I am & never compare

Being a therapist/social worker is hard. I am so thankful for days like today when my clients show up with amazing revelations, healing work, and/or progress towards their goals —- because it refreshes me in the work. It reminds me to keep showing up.

My virtual therapy sessions have looked very interesting so far this week. Men cooking dinner and parenting, kids doing laundry, eating pizza rolls, & everything else. And I love it! I know that my people are more likely to do the work if they are comfortable!
