With #MixedReality , we can blend people’s whiteboards across spaces to support remote collaboration.
This enables users to take advantage of the whiteboard's physicality + reconfigurability.

But combining the two creates tension.

To address these tensions, we introduce #BlendedWhiteboard + a set of design principles aimed at reconciling them.
Our paper discusses how to implement these principles into a single system, and how this work challenges proxemic theories for blending realities over distance.
