Very exciting - thx Jeff Asher! The Real-Time Crime Index launches at realtimecrimeindex.com! It presents a new way of looking at crime data by collecting current crime data from 100s of law enforcement agencies to present crime trends as never seen before: as they develop.

The Real-Time Crime Index (Real-Time Crime Index) launches today with data from more than 300 agencies nationwide! The RTCI is designed to show national crime trends as they develop from as many agencies as possible with as little lag as possible. realtimecrimeindex.com

It’s kind of wild to me that, as of two weeks ago, there are now 3 large cluster randomized trials across five countries in Sub-Saharan Africa showing that giving every kid antibiotics reduces child mortality by ~14% and I don’t see anyone talking about it!

Looking for a non-technical review of the economics literature on abortion policy? I've got a new review piece forthcoming at Annual Reviews covering 50 years of abortion policy, from the Roe era until just prior to Dobbs. Here's the preprint: drive.google.com/file/d/13lnSi4…

RCT introduction of a pollution market in Surat, Gujarat. Pollution fell by 20–30%, and efficiently — gains came from the firms who could cut pollution most effectively. Mortality benefits are *25 times* costs. An incredible state/research collaboration. 1/2

Factual information is the quintessential public good, and yet underrated in many quarters as a philanthropic opportunity. Wherever you *think* you stand on criminal justice issues, it’s hard to accomplish anything without better basic information about crime trends.
