I’m actually appalled by the amount of sarcasm and lack of respect on this thread. If we as educators cannot respectfully discuss or debate ideas what hope is there for the students?

Reading Recovery is a great programme although not perfect and when tracking students in year 3 and 5 at our school I found that most students were maintaining grade average or above and this was also reflected in NAPLAN results. Avid supporter regardless of imperfections

I have difficulty understanding that we have an Army Reserve where people are paid for training etc. Why can’t we implement a similar program for Volunteer Fire Fighters just drop ‘volunteer’ and call them Reserve Fire Fighters. Much more relevant to the needs of our country!
