The Penguin symbol is an emblem of my childhood, and my early love of reading. When I first wrote The List of Suspicious Things it was my deepest wish to be published by them. I’m now going to celebrate Penguin’s 90th birthday as an actual Penguin Books UK author. What a joy!

I got to meet jon ronson last night and it was one of those moments where every word out of my mouth was a garbled version of ‘I love you.’ So Jon, if you see this, I am sorry about the very intense author you met yesterday. It made my evening to say hello!

There aren’t many reasons I would go into London in this weather, but this is one! The Barbecue at Number 9 is set over the course of the Live Aid concert in 1985. When I told Bookaholic Bex that I was writing it, she told me about this musical & we got tickets straight away!

Only one book on the roundup this week which I enjoyed immensely - All The Other Mothers Hate Me by Sarah Hartman is whip-smart, laugh out loud funny with one of the most brilliantly flawed protagonists I’ve read in a long while. Recommend! #booktwitter
