Currently teaching my 6th grader how to run a paired samples t-test for her science fair project, and I don’t think I’ve even been this excited to mentor someone. For the first time, she is loving math!!! Academic Mom, PhD AcademicDads #AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter #Statistics

I was recently reading an article about how overworked professors are. This morning, after several meetings, I realized my dress was on backwards, so I feel this deeply. Academic Mom, PhD AcademicDads Academic Chatter™

It is that time of year again when only 1% of the comments on my course evaluations were negative, but I will now spend an inordinate amount of time obsessing about them for at least the next month. #academia Academic Mom, PhD AcademicDads Academic Chatter™

A learning outcome for one of my courses is for students to learn to write a literature review in APA format. Any advice on how to ensure they’re not using AI or creative ways to meet this outcome and minimize opportunities to use AI? Academic Mom, PhD AcademicDads Academic Chatter™

Don’t have the words right now. But this is so unacceptable & heartbreaking. No athlete should ever go through this. This is unfair & cruel. Athlete fairness & athlete mental health matters. Athletes should not suffer from mistakes that are out of their control. & the bullying

I've written to the Court of Arbitration for Sport about #JordanChiles Bronze Medal. 2 issues at conflict here: the judges' failure to score correctly & an alleged 4-second delay on appealing the score. The equity for the #IOC & athletes is undeniably the score, not the appeal.

I hate 7th grade Algebra and what it’s doing to my family. I would rather complete another dissertation than go through this every night. Send help. Or advice. Or wine. Please. Academic Mom, PhD AcademicDads

Former Boston College lacrosse player Welles Crowther sacrificed himself to save as many as 18 people on 9/11. His story needs to be told every single year. He was a real-life superhero.
