First day back on campus at Hunter College this semester! Between the redistricting saga roiling the country and the Supreme Court’s likely gutting of the Voting Rights Act this term, I can’t think of a better time to be teaching voting rights and the law of democracy.

Great event at Brooklyn College with Zohran Kwame Mamdani. The NYC mayor's race is not just about who wins. It's about whether ordinary citizens have ANY power in our democracy, or whether billionaires control it all. We can't let them win.

It was great to hear Zohran Kwame Mamdani speak on the importance of an efficient, effective progressive administration. Our city government can and should be a tool to advance equity but first it must function. When government fails, the poor suffer and corruption flourishes.
