Yesterday I held a meeting with the DSRSG of UNMISS. We discussed the heinous violence that has ensued in Tombura County and ways forward.

I am always energised by meeting young people who are committed to bettering themselves and who advocate for their colleagues. Thank you to the members of the SSSU and AASU for yesterday’s courtesy visit. It’s pertinent that we invest in our young African sons and daughters.

It was my pleasure to attend a consultative workshop on climate change. I extend my special appreciation to Professor Deng Majok Chol, whose presentation greatly enriched the work being done at the TNLA and will stand as a point of reference in future decision making processes.

It was a pleasure to meet with the British Ambassador to South Sudan and update him on the progress being made in our peace process and discuss areas of cooperation between our two nations.

Privileged to deliver on behalf of IGAD Executive Secretary H.E. Dr Workneh Gebeyehu a copy of the new IGAD Treaty to the Rt. Hon. Rt. Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, Speaker of the Revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly. This was after a successful two day sensitization workshop in Rajaf.

It was my pleasure to meet with a delegation headed by the IGAD head of mission to South Sudan, David Kwaje, earlier today. We discussed IGAD’s work, their recent sensitisation workshop in Rajaf, the ongoing peace process in South Sudan and further cooperation with the TNLA.

It was a privilege to attend the welcoming ceremony of newly admitted students from Lakes States to University’s in Juba, over the weekend. Education is a corner stone for personal and intellectual development as well as socio-economic development, we must always foster it.

Congratulations to my counterpart and colleague Office of the Speaker of Parliament of Uganda on a successful opening of Parliament last week. Congratulations also to H.E. Yoweri K Museveni for a captivating state of the nation address.

On behalf of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly of the Republic of South Sudan, I send our most heart felt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Dr. Shogo Mlozi. We stand in solidarity with you during this time of mourning. May she RIP.

Congratulations to the sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for commemorating 70 years of service and at the same time the launching of 75 years of existence in South Sudan and Sudan. Thank you for promoting peace, unity, education, and social welfare throughout the region.

I was incredibly humbled earlier this week to have been surprised by colleagues and friends in my office in celebration of my birthday. I am grateful for the gift of life, for my family and friends and for the opportunity to serve the people of South Sudan.

Yesterday I took a tour around the Parliament premises to speak with Hon. Members and staff on matters of legislation, policies making and administrative issues. I’m a firm believer that leadership does not just happen in the office, it also happens where those that we lead are.

Yesterday’s Ordinary sitting of the TNLA, saw the committee on Transport, present on the report of the Joint standing specialised committees on Transport and Legislation and Justice on the South Sudan Civil Aviation Act Bill, 2024.

Congratulations to the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Uganda for hosting such a colourful Independence Day celebration yesterday. We are grateful for our independence and our historical relationship with the people and David Alvarez

Yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of my inauguration into office as the Speaker of the TNLA. I’m proud of the work our Parliament has done since that time and look forward to continue diligently working towards the end of the peace process. God bless the Republic of South Sudan.
