That there a few optimistic Red Sox fans remaining is expected. Yet for most of us our optimism extinguished after seeing how Spendlow did nothing to fortify the roster with legitimate Major League Baseball players. Caveat emptor.

When the Red Sox ran out of GM candidates they turned in desperation to Breslow. During his interview they asked how he’d improve the team. He said he had no idea and wouldn’t even know where to begin. They hired him.

Blake Snell on ESPN endorsed Cora’s move to replace Criswell with Rich Hill yesterday. Said Snell, “never think your pitcher will pitch a no-hitter. So glad I was lifted after 7 in the WS by Cash.”

The only Red Sox broadcaster worth listening to besides Joe Castiglione is Lou Merloni. If the wheel isn’t broken what’s the point of trying to fix it.

Tonight’s Sox game is the first time hearing Tyler Murray as a broadcaster. I like his vibe a lot. No idea where he came from or his background. This guy has an aura of authenticity. He’d be a refreshing change from Will Fleming who’s too erudite for my tastes.

What’s the excuse for today’s pitching performance by Kelly? Such a shame to lose this game after a fine outing by Fitts.

Losing today to Chicago 7-2 is further evidence the Boston Red Sox are unwatchable and don’t deserve being in the playoffs. Nine strikeouts today. That’s on Fatse.

The most important responsibility of a baseball GM is talent evaluation and roster construction. Craig Breslow has failed to fulfill this responsibility in exemplary fashion. He is accountable and is the scapegoat for the demise of the Boston Red Sox in 2024.

Imagine Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella running the Red Sox? Or Fidelity CEO Abagail Johnson? Sadly, our boy is pictured below.

I think that in 2025 MLB should move the Boston Red Sox out of the AL East and into AAA where they will have a better chance of success. Red Sox

Three hits for the Red Sox tonight against the mediocre Tampa Rays signifies a team that is being run by a man who is way over his head. Breslow is accountable for an abysmal season. This is a problem that’s not fixable because nobody wants his job. Red Sox

Now is the time to bring Kyle Barraclough back. Let him pitch in all the remaining games and see if he can post an ERA of 10+, as the 2024 season comes to an excruciatingly painful finale. Red Sox

I have solved the dilemma around Joe Castiglione’s retirement. To replace him in the Boston Red Sox radio booth I am proposing Jonathan Paplebon and Daiske Matsuzaka. WEEI Red Sox Network
