FCM stands with Alberta Municipalities | Strength in Members and Rural Municipalities of Alberta in expressing concern about Alberta’s Bill-20. This bill threatens to undermine municipal autonomy in a way that could make it harder for local governments to serve Canadians.
At Committee District of Muskoka, our planners are now proposing new ways to streamline the peer review process, making it simpler and more consistent.
Getting more housing built means constant efforts to improve our own municipal approval processes.
The PSE sector needs to take a really good look at what SP Institute did over the past year and see what lessons can be learned. One point I would underline: it didn't start from the premise that the solution was always more public funding.
