Switerland is voting on a popular initiative to "ban all animal and human experiments". I've written a commentary for the ETH Zurich, vigorously supporting animal research in biomedicine. I also argue for less bureaucracy to aid scientific progress 😱. Yes. ethz.ch/en/news-and-ev…

If you're 35 or older and in the London area, we want your guts (well, images thereof, rather). Help us understand sex differences in the human GI tract. Retweets much appreciated!

This gem by my fantastic colleague JP Krieger is finally not a pre proof anymore: Neural pathway for gut feelings: vagal interoceptive feedback from the gastrointestinal tract is a critical modulator of anxiety-like behavior 😰🍽 Open access🔗: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Stomach-brain coherence exists in rats too and depends on the vagus nerve! A technical tour-de-force combining stomach EEG and MRI 👏 👇 sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

🆕Our article is now online in Molecular Metabolism 🎉!!! 👉We developed and characterized a new Glucagon-Cre rat model (yes, I said "rat"). Delighted to be part of this collaboration between bluesky @neurorinaman ´s lab and Skibicka Lab! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Why do we love cake and ice cream? My lab's latest paper in Cell Metabolism led by @molly_mcdougle identifies separate gut-reward circuits for fat and sugar. Foods combining fat and sugar recruit both reward circuits to increase motivation to overeating. authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S15…
