My colleague, the brilliant Philip Alston of NYU Law, has made the new edition of his textbook, _International Human Rights_, available freely online. An incredible, *free* resource! humanrightstextbook.org

An entity controlling part of the © in Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man" has sued Miley Cyrus over alleged similarities in "Flowers." A few thoughts 🧵 First: the lawyers. In these cases you usually don't see brand-name large firms on plaintiff's side. But you certainly do here

Interesting work by a group of linguists and lawyers on using corpus linguistics to show or disprove genericide in trademark law, including case studies on Google, Xerox, escalator, and trampoline papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

I have now been asked a few times to address the weather patents conspiracy theory that has been making the rounds. This pic is one such example, purporting to show patents that control the weather. Taking a look into this will teach a lot about patent law. A 🧵 1/20

I love this article. I was actually just thinking about it, as a speaker at our trademark scams webinar today said that she thinks the 2,400+ trademark apps filed fraudulently under her stolen credentials were mostly intended to get the applicants in the Amazon brand registry.
